Nokia E55 – With semi-QWERTY keyboard
Nokia E55 – With semi-QWERTY keyboard
The new mantra in gadgets these days is to go thin. The manufacturer claims that its device is thin and it attracts a lot of attention. I don’t blame them; I still can’t get over iPod Nano 2GBs slim profile. I refuse to believe that a music player can be so thin. Nokia is claiming that its latest offering, the E55, is the world’s thinnest phone ever. Now I cannot vouch for that since I’d have to compare it with a lot of other phones. What I can vouch for is that this phone is indeed really thin and were it not for the weight, you wouldn’t have felt the weight in your pocket at all. The handset is just half an inch thick. On the front, there is a big enough. It supports 1.6 million colors which is really good. The photos and videos look good on the screen and the text too is legible  [...]

HTC Droid Incredible 2 (Verizon Wireless)
HTC Droid Incredible 2 (Verizon Wireless)
HTC Droid Incredible 2 is the successor to the original HTC Droid Incredible and it did really well in the market. Things have changed since then; the competition has got more stiff and it will be interesting to see how this phone performs in sales. On the front, there is a gorgeous four inch display having a resolution of 480×800 pixels. The quality is much better than standard LCDs but you won’t be able to see it even in bright sunlight. This display holds its own again the Super AMOLED displays of Samsung and iPhone’s Retina screen. Multitouch screen of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 has built in accelerometer and also proximity sensor and it felt very responsive in my lab tests. I didn’t have any problems launching the applications, scrolling through the home screens  [...]

Kyocera Brio – Display quality could have been better
Kyocera Brio – Display quality could have been better
Kyocera Brio is a budget phone and it is good to see some entry level handsets amidst the war of smartphones all over. This handset is offered for free by Sprint and it has a full QWERTY keyboard which means it is targeted at messaging freaks. The display of this phone is a bit small just like most handsets which have a full QWERTY keyboard. The screen is 2.2 inches big and has a resolution of 320×240 pixels. There is also support for 65k colors. The display quality isn’t the best as compared to other high end phones in the market but this isn’t unforgivable considering that this is a budget phone. Kyocera Brio full QWERTY keyboard has four rows and is quite compact. People having larger hands will call it small. Buttons here are ridged and hence your fingers will have something to  [...]

HTC Arrive – Good call quality
HTC Arrive – Good call quality
HTC Arrive is a good smartphone featuring all basics are there is much more. The phone has Windows Phone 7 OS inside and I want to praise Microsoft for merging all the contact information from the different networking sites and e-mail accounts like Windows Live, Gmail, Exchange and Facebook. Just like other mobile platforms, the merges create duplicates but here it was much fewer as compared to previous phones from Windows. This doesn’t mean that HTC Arrive is a perfect phone. I would like to have more features in People hub like automatic sign-in for Facebook and Twitter integration. I would also like to see category for viewing and also quickly dialing the favorite contacts. Apart from the address book of HTC Arrive has alarm clock, calculator, calendar, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. You  [...]

Nokia E7 – Symbian Smartphone Having Keyboard
Nokia E7 – Symbian Smartphone Having Keyboard
If you want a phone that has a hug and comfy QWERTY keyboard, then the Nokia E7 is just what you’ve been looking for. The E7 is not just a simple handset; it certainly has a complete keyboard. The Nokia E7 suffers with the same problem, which most of the recent Nokia models have. Physically the E7 is pretty impressive, but it has Symbian operating system preinstalled or one of Symbian’s variants. The Nokia E7 on its own though, is a pretty impressive set of hardware and is nicely constructed and designed. The Nokia E7 has the Symbian^3 operating system, which although is better than its previous versions, but still falls miles short of Apple iOS and Google Android, as far as ease and functionality is concerned. Nokia has acknowledged the problem itself by proclaiming that they soon will  [...]
